Hi everyone! I totally forgot if Pine Pellets were okay to use in rabbit litterboxes. My mom just picked up a 40 lb bag at the feed store.

Are Pine Pellets okay to use in the litterbox?

        Thanks

However, my vet told me that any compressed wood pellet isn’t great for rabbits because of ingested it can cause a blockage. I was using aspen pellets and was under the impression that they’d be safer, but Hhe told me otherwise. :/

I think that if they were ingested, the pellets (at least the type I have) would just crumble apart and exit the system. That is something to consider, although if your rabbit is consuming a large amount of any type of any bedding, its best to take it away.

Okay, thanks everyone. I saw Mocha nibbling on the bedding, (not ingesting though), and I just put a layer of hay over the litter, and she isn’t chewing on it anymore. Carefresh, is too expensive and doesn’t last me too long. I usually get food and litter at the feed bin, and they only have shavings and pellets so I chose shavings.
