hi all. it’s been forever since i’ve been on here; life has been busy.

i am attaching pics of callie’s eyes. her third eyelid is…odd. the vet said it could be a prolapsed third eyelid, which we would do nothing about unless she shows signs of discomfort. it could also be a thymoma which has something to do with the thymus gland that is supposed to go away when animals are babies. finally, most dangerous and most rare, it could be a tumor and eye cancer. he is going to talk to his exotics comrades to get opinions on what if anything to do right now.

just curious if anyone has experienced this or has any opinions.

          Oh my, poor thing. =(

No advice on this. Wooly does have a funky third eyelid in his left eye, but that is from an injury. It was torn, so it protrudes a little bit. Not the same thing as what your experiencing.

I found an article on MediRabbit.

also, another clarification…her eyes aren’t like this always. most of the time they look perfectly normal. at other times some of the third eyelid is visible. it never protrudes to this extent unless the vet manipulates it.

              thanks for the article LBJ.

Has your vet suggested chest xray to rrule out thymoma? I do remember reading about case in relation to that. I think it was on the Rabbit Haven website.
Hopefully it is just a prolapse. Amazing detailed pics you manages to get.

                {{{Vibes}}} for lil Callie !
