Hi, I have a 3mth old female bunny, she have no companion and I don’t intend on having another bunny. Just only I found out that my bunny is humping, scratching and biting my arm. I research from other websites and also this website, it states that my rabbit wants dominance or need spaying. So I thought of waiting for my bunny to be 6mth old then I take her to the vet for spaying to prevent her frm risk.
Here’s my question: what should I do currently, if she wants to hump on my arm(which I feel abit violated by it)? Is there any ways to prevent her? I read frm some websites they gave their rabbit toys for them to hump….but I don’t feel it is the right thing to do. So is there any other way?

          Moving to behavior.
She probably does need to be spayed. This is the only thing that will stop it, although she may still do it once in a while if she finds something she finds attractive.
If she tries to hump your arm, you can gently push her off and say “no.” However, bunnies will be bunnies and the only way to lessen this behaviour is to spay her.

I had the same problem waiting for my buns to be spayed/neutered. I did the distracting with a stuffed toy. It seems disturbing seeing your baby bunny hump a stuffed animal, but it’s normal behaviour and it lets them get their frustrations out.

My Henry (boy bunny) did this ‘behaviour’ to my old female dog – and I was mortified! LOL! And Sam (my dog) was too!
I gave him a toy to get him through till his neuter, but he had no interest (sadly, for my dog) – so we just persisted with scooting him away if she didn’t get up and walkway in disgust herself.
I’m happy to report the neutering did the trick! Sadly, Sam is still wary of his intentions (ha ha ha) and when he touches her, she gets up and takes herself outside.
Honestly, try the toy – you never know??? But if that fails, just push her way…. (and try not to be to grossed out – like LPT said). Cheers.

I’m currently trying to distract her with new toys to let her play….seems the distracting l
works for now. I read frm some sites that some rabbits hump and sometimes make loud noise from the cage(to let them out) that is some ways for dominance. My rabbit did the same exact thing so I guess my rabbit is creating a dominance.

Another question: if I stop my bunny frm humping will there b any health problems that would occur later on?

There shouldn’t be any health problems if you cause to stop the humping. The only real health problem comes from not getting your bun spayed. Females have a high rate for uterine cancer if they are not fixed.
