I adopted my male on saturday to bond with my female and they have been doing great since then (snuggling, grooming each other, eating together etc). I was finally planning on letting them out of the pen today so I let them sleep together last night to see how they would do. They did great all night. I slept in bed next to them and checked on them every hour and they were either sleeping next to each other, grooming each other or sleeping on opposite ends. Now all of a sudden this morning for the first time that have gotten into two little fights and i was the one that ended up with the bite marks on my leg separating it. They were doing so well for three days straight and I was certain they were bonded and ready to come out today. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Don’t worry, it happens. They can be doing so well, then all the sudden they start to tiff.
What I would recommend is, if they fight again, stress bonding them and putting them back in the pen. Do not separate them this far along in the bonding. You may also want to wait a little bit to open the pen until their relationship is more established.

I think it sounds like your bunnies are doing great despite the scuffle. It takes most bunnies longer than that (and some MUCH longer) to bond or even tolerate each other.

I decided on opening the pen to let them out and they have been doing well all day. Pretty much ignoring each other except for a bit of grooming here and there and some chasing each other. I think it is turning into scuffles because they are nipping each others butts. I just put their veggies down and they were eating together and have been seeming to be doing fine. I think they are just happy to be out of the pen and able to free roam. I am just nervous to leave them alone once and for all. I’m not sure how i’m going to be able to do it
