I swear my bunny hates me. I can’t touch her at all, if I put my hand in her cage to add more food or whatever she lunges at me. I can’t even attempt to pick her up and I’m worried about her nails getting too long and she has long hair and probably needs to be groomed but of course I can’t touch her. I’ve tried all the bonding things nothing works she’ll come up to me and sniffs me then hops away, she pulls at my clothing which I read was a sign for wanting attention but if I go to pet her she gets mad and hops away, she’s not afraid I don’t think since she flops out when she’s out of her cage. I absolutely hate letting her out of her cage since I can’t pick her up to put her back so it becomes a two person job and she becomes pissy and scratches and lunges at whatever were using to try and nudge her back in her cage (usually a towel). Why is she so difficult?

First bunny commandment is though shall not fool with bunny’s stuff :~) Do not put your hand in her cage when she is there – try to replenish food, clean, etc….when bunny is out and about.

For getting bun back in cage, watch this:

The first video is helpful. But I can barely touch her let alone pick her up.

Merlin and Luna HAAAATED being touched and still arent keen… you can usually find another way around it. Merlin is a typical man and is led by his stomach, if i need him to go somewhere, I tempt him with a tiny bit of fresh grass or hay or some yummy treat. Time is the main thing, they get used to your presence, spend time with them not doing anything, or reading outloud gently because they get used to your voice. Soon your bun will realise you’re not going to eat her, and then you’ll be able to sit next to her… then stroke her… then all of that.
I’ve had Merlin for 6 months ish and he’s only just allowing me to pick him up.He likes stroking IF its on his terms…
Just try bonding, spending time together, sit next to her while shes eating, usually when they’re eating they dont mind being touched gently.

Don’t give up! they’re little buttheads at first, but the love is there <3
