        Weird question.

I was putting more food in my bunny’s bowl and when I put it back I heard a “cheenk” sound. I accidentally hit him in the teeth as I put the bowl back in his cage and feel really bad. I didn’t whack him hard, but I’m worried it may have hurt him. I know bunnies’ teeth are pretty strong and are constantly growing.

I have sensitive front teeth from years of braces, so if that were to happen to me my teeth would hurt for a long time afterward. One time when I took off running a metal necklace I was wearing smacked my front teeth and it hurt for weeks. Another time someone accidentally whacked me on the same teeth and I ended up going to the dentist to make sure it was okay because of the pain. I know I’m probably being extra concerned because of my own experiences.

This may seem like a strange question, but do you think it could have hurt him very much? He seems fine and is eating, but I noticed he hasn’t been chewing on things as much today. I bought him a willow twig ball later on that he normally devours in a couple of days and he has barely touched it. Maybe he is just tired and I’m worrying too much. Just thought I’d ask!

How did it hit his teeth? Or do you mean it hit is nose/mouth area? Is he eating? I would check his teeth (pull the little flaps beneath his nose apart with your thumbs) to make sure they aren’t cracked or anything like that.

He hopped towards the bowl when I put it back in and got hit in his front teeth. The “tink” sound gave it away. I looked at his teeth for a brief second while he let me and I couldn’t see anything wrong. I am watching him now and he’s started chewing on his twig ball like normal I believe.  I guess I was just worrying too much. I will check his teeth again to make sure, but it seems fine now. Thank you! I need to stop worrying so much.
