A week and a half the love of my life passed. His name was Buns Buns. I had him for 2.5 years but he was my absolute everything. I don’t have close friends and my family lives hours away from me. Buns was a free range rabbit and basically got to do whatever he wanted. He had the best most hilarious personality. My life revolved around him. When things got really $*&!ty he was always there for me. He was such a happy rabbit, I can’t imagine being without him. I still cry like a baby when I think about him or see his pictures/videos. A lot of people think he was just a rabbit but thats wrong, I loved him more than I’ve ever loved anything. He was my first pet and definitely my last. I didn’t ever even have an interest in having a pet before I met him. He went everywhere with me. He loved car rides to the pet store. He had so much fun staying in hotel rooms. I even took him to the beach a few months ago and he had the time of his life. I can’t even drive by the park without think of him because I took him there all the time. When I left for work that day he was being so affectionate and cuddly. I gave him a kiss and told him I would take him to the park after work; I didn’t get to keep that promise. I’m really not sure I’ll ever be okay without him. I think I always needed him more than he needed me.

I feel your pain. We lost our 12 1/2 year old pup on 7/25 — it all happened in a matter of hours. We just picked up her ashes. It’s been two weeks today, and I still get teary thinking about her.

Know that it will get easier with time, but there is a place in your heart that will always belong to Buns Buns. He may have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but your memories of him will be with you forever. I am so so sorry for the loss of your special friend.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is always extremely hard. It will take time. It will most likely take quite a lot of time, because he was so important to you. Don’t force yourself or expect yourself to get over it quickly… it’s natural to feel this way after losing your closest companion. Give yourself some time, and go easy on yourself. Time will heal this, and you can rest assured knowing that he had the best and happiest life he possibly could have while he was with you, and there’s no doubt that he loved you just as much as you loved him, and always will.

                  Take care of yourself. <3
