My rescue bunny, Leo has become lethargic and unenergetic. I rescued him from a shelter a little over three years ago and the only info supplied was that his age was approximately 7 years old. that makes him now around 10.  over the last year i have had to have a tooth removed and the others filed down (the last time just a month ago).  when he had his tooth removed four months ago, he had a bout with GI stasis but he recovered well.  but now something is happening that has me mystified.  he is eating/pooping just fine. but he just doesn’t have the energy he normally would. every night i take him out in the backyard for a couple of hours and he just loves it. now, he just kinda sits in one spot and nibbles on the dandelion and grass. normally, after 5pm, he is a ball of energy, always following me around the house, but no longer.  he just isn’t himself.  what should i think of this situation?!  this happened one other time about three weeks ago but only lasted for two days and then he was himself again.  but this time it has been five days.  i am getting worried. but it is so strange that his appetite/digestive system seem fine.  is this just a symptom of him getting advanced in years?  has anyone else experienced this with their bunnies?

I think it’s likely due to his age, but at this age, I would be inclined to visit a vet for any sudden changes in his behavior. He could be developing a bit of arthritis or something similar which is causing him to not want to run around a ton. However, don’t expect him to be super energetic in matter what-he is getting up there in years.
