For my bunnies toys and treats, I usually go to Petsmart.

For their food, I go to my feed store. I also get all three of my horses supplies’ there, along with all my chicken supplies.

Are there any online stores (in the US) that you reccomend with good prices? I have horses, chickens, rabbits, and soon a dog.

Online shopping I go with whoever has the cheapest price (including shipping) for what I want. Amazon, or Dr Foster & Smith are usually pretty good. IRL there is only one pet store near enough, which is petsmart, but they are so pricey and I don’t really like them so I don’t go there much.

The only things I buy at Petsmart anymore are litter and a few toys. The rabbit food, hay, and treats come from the feed store. Dog food comes from a small specialty store (local business) because it is the only place in town that carries Acana.

I have purchased bunny toys on Amazon before. Sometimes they have them as cheap “add-ons” that are free to ship if you put them with other items. Otherwise, I don’t really order pet stuff online. The prices are cheaper if I buy things from the store, plus there is a punch card to get a free bag of pellets.

I think Foster and Smith has some good prices if you’re looking for a website. You have to order over $50 worth of stuff to get free shipping though.

I find I can get most things cheaper on amazon than from stores. Plus I have prime, so I tend to get stuff from there.

I get our dog food from a locally owned small pet supply store. I honestly haven’t looked online for it because the woman who owns it is so friendly and helpful with helping to find a brand that doesn’t give our lab diarrhea and toy recommendations for our aggressive chewers. They only carry stuff for dogs and cats though so no bunny stuff there.

The only other store in our city is Petco. It is expensive and doesn’t have much variety. There is only one brand of rabbit pellets and all the varieties have added things in them. They only sell one brand of hay too and Lola won’t eat it. There is a Petsmart about 90 miles from us but that too is expensive although they do have more variety. This is where I go for their pellets. It’s the only place I can get Oxbow without ordering online and paying for shipping. I order their hay online. I wish I could find somewhere local to buy it from but don’t have a clue where to look. We have a Tractor Supply here but to my knowledge they don’t carry it.

Generally I go to Petsmart as it’s convenient and have a pretty good variety of items. I also like to buy bulk dried fruit/vegetables from my usual grocery store. They have a good selection of organic and unsweetened products.

Tessie, I loved when amazon had oxbow for $8 a bag last month… I miss it! lol

PetValu. Pet Pros has more exotic items, but they are more expensive and the staff aren’t as knowledgeable. At MY Petvalu the manager knows me, and Muffin, and always know what I want to buy. I walk in and whoever is the clerk at the moment says, Oxbow or toys? Because that’s what I often buy XD

I buy pellets from a local pet supply store and order hay online. We have Petsmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus (won’t go there anymore -they sell live baby bunnies). I buy litter from Petsmart or Petco — in store or online, whichever has the best price. For toys and other stuff, BB store, Lieth Petwerks, Busy Bunny, and a few others all online. I occasionally buy toys at Petsmart but the online stores have more variety and better prices, and (with the exception of the local store where I buy pellets – great cust svc), great customer service . . . sad when you get better service online/over the phone than in person.

JackRabbit – where do you order your hay from?

Sierra Valley Pet Hay mainly. They are a small farm so they do tend to run out of 2nd timothy, but my buns like their 2nd cut timothy, orchard grass, and oat hay. My living room is currently a make-shift barn because I had to stock up! I’ve never tried their 1st cut timothy. I’ve also ordered from Small Pet Select (have asked them to look for a softer 2nd cut this year as an option because last year’s was a bit stalky for my buns). I’m planning on trying some KMS bluegrass soon (I know alot of people love their hay). I would stay away from Sweet Meadow — ordered a box from them and it seemed damp, brown, and had moss in it.

Being in ND, you should find many of the western hays decently priced with shipping. Shipping to the east coast can get really expensive so I have to watch the shipping costs — ordered from APD once and spent over $80 on one 25 lb box of hay — ugh!

Last fall, I ordered hay from everywhere (except Farmer Dave, no reason) to see what everyone’s hay quality was like. The ones I’d do again (price and quality): SVPH, KMS Hayloft (Kleenmama), Bunny Bales, and Small Pet Select. If you’re looking to go as cheap as possible, check local farms for bales.

I get my oxbow pellets from a local rabbit rescue-$13 for a 10lb bag. It’s very cheap, and it supports the bunnies! I also get a few toys at the rescue occasionally.
Sometimes I go into petsmart, because that’s the only place I can get my hamster food, and I will get a few things from there sometimes, but mostly I do try to avoid shopping there.
Online, I mostly buy stuff on KMS hayloft, BB store, busy bunny, etc.
