Hey hey, My 14 week old female, I’ve had her about 3 weeks now.

She will run up to me quite happily, lick me and put her scent on me so I assume that means she likes me. Every now and again though when she’s sat on me or next to me, she will nip my top or shorts, sometimes quite hard and catching skin in the process.

How do I stop her doing this? I don’t mind her biting my clothes as she stops as soon as I stroke her again, but catching my skin is pretty painful.

I have a rabbit that does this to me sometimes. He mainly does it to let me know he wants to be petted or he wants me to move out of the way. If your rabbit does this and it hurts you can make a noise to let them know it hurts perhaps the next time they try that behavior they do it in a way that they don’t bite you accidently. I am sure they don’t mean to bite your skin.

They’re just talking to you in bunny, but it does hurt. Let out a little squeal like a bunny being hurt to let them know they shouldn’t nip so hard. You don’t have fur, so she needs to learn to be more gentle than she would with a rabbit.

okay, I kinda assumed it was just because she was young, didn’t really understand that she was hurting me and that she maybe just thought that my clothes are my fur or something and she wouldn’t hurt me.
Thanks though I’ll give it a go :3

I have one who does it too. She did not get the squeal memo. She does it playing — when we’re sitting on the floor with her she will run behind us and nip our backs or try to sneak up next to me and bite/tug my shirt. Any reaction to the nips send her binkying away. She doesn’t mean to get skin, but youch! Hopefully yours understands the squeals!
