Gary is a Dutch and Milo is a flop. We bought them together and they were in the same cage when we bought them. Everything was fine until about 4 weeks later when Milo attacked Gary and nearly ripped out his neck. After is we found out they are both girls and not boys as we was told but we kept the names as they seem to understand there names. Now they have to be kept separate and cannot be let out at the same time as Milo attacks Gary at every chance she gets. It is now 3 months later and I tried re-introducing them to each other with no success. Any tips or help would be much appreciated as Gary really wants a friend.

Hey, are they both neutered? I’m sure females can be more territorial than males can but I’m not sure.
It’s best to have their areas separate but so they can always see each other, to help build their trust up. You wanna be slowly introducing them to each other in neutral areas where you are there to watch closely for any aggression.
I know with some rabbits they just don’t wanna be with someone else, especially with same sex matches.

Yes, they need to be neutered before they can be bonded and they need to be bonded in neutral territory.

Yup, they definitely need to be spayed before spending any more time together. Unfixed bunnies, especially females can be very aggressive about territory and could very seriously injure each other.

Thanks for the replies people. Only milo has been spayed as recommended by the vet as milo was more dominant than gary and twice the size aswell. Gary is the more friendly rabbit even though he used to be the 1 that bite the most but now Milo has the devil in him and doesn’t really like any contact and always seems to be nervous. They are separated but in the same room and each go round and scent the room with there necks. Unfortunately Milo is the bunny that we are considering re homing but I am an animal lover and really don’t want to do it! But it is becoming very stressful separating the room when we let them out 1 at a time. Any guidance is welcome.
