So I have this crazy fly problem in my apt. Seems they’re laying their eggs in the bunnies litter boxes. My super suggested removing my buns from the apt for a few hrs and using bug bombs. Does anyone know or think this will be safe to use and put the buns back in after a few hours?

I would personally avoid bug bombs…. I had a huge problem last Summer and I used the Mortein Natureguard in the automatic spray… It’s pet safe and I put it in the kitchen so not in the same areas as the buns… It took a little while but eventually I was 99.9% fly free.. Keep changing the litter trays regular and possibly change the kind of litter you are using… What are you using at the moment ?

For the litter I’m using feline pine topped with hay. Actually Just Changed the litter boxes, put down just newspaper and hay. I’m planning on cleaning the boxes every other day to help get rid of these flies. I’ve got sticky fly papers up everywhere, bought cloves and placed those by the cage as well as a citronella candle. I’m desperate Im nervous about the bug bombs so therefore trying everything else.

Are they normal house flies or something else… Fresh basil and lavender will help with house flies, if they are something else maybe they are coming from the litter or the latest bag of hay… I once had an infestation of very bizar looking weevils after a lavender scented buckwheat pillow hatched.
