I have two female bunnies (sisters) that are around 10 weeks old. They seemed to get on fine but a little while ago they must have had a little tustle as one (Sapphire) ended up with a little hole in her ear. We separated them and the one who attacked (Midnight) seemed fine but Sapphire became very withdrawn and wasnt eating much so we put them back together but only when we were in the room. They seemed to be doing fine so thinking it was just a power fight and it was all resolved so we moved them back in together permanently, big mistake. We went to the bunny shed to check on them before bed last night and something just didn’t feel right. We found clumps of fur scattered about and sapphire sitting on her own in a corner so we took her inside and checked her over to find a wound at the base of one ear with cartilage exposed and some skin peeled off the other one. Obviously we’ve separated them again but sapphire once again is withdrawn and refusing any attention off us. We were wondering if she would benefit from us getting her a male companion and of course, slowly introducing them or what else should we do??

They’ve hit puberty! They both need to be separated from each other, spayed, and then re-introduced and bonded

It’s natural for them to fight like this when the hit puberty, this is why bunnies should only be kept together when they’re neutered. It doesn’t matter that they’re sisters, intact bunnies (especially girls) fight.

Definitely don’t go and buy another bunny, because you’ll just have more of the same problem. And especially a boy bunny, because you’ll end up with babies, haha!

Time to make an appointment with the vet!
