So next Monday or Tuesday I’ll be hitting the road from Laredo, Tx back to Ohio. I am gonna have my babies in their smaller travel size cage which i plan to cover most of it with towels to keep the sun off them and to try n hide the windows from em.

I plan to give em unlimited pellets during the trip since they love their pellet food and during other trips they tended to ignore their hay completely. And this trip is gonna be four 8-12 hour days in the car. >_< So I want them to have as much enticing food as possible within reach. I just want any tips on how to make this as comfortable as possible for them. I also need to find hotels to allow them. I don't think it'll be too hard... I hope I hope they’ll be ok >_

Put towels on the bottom of the cage, to make it soft. You can put some hay in a bowl just so they have the option of eating it. You can give them a few vegetables to nibble on. If it’s hot, you can give them a cold bottle. Finally, give them their favorite toy.
          Hope I helped!

It is likely they won’t eat/drink too much in the car, but definitely make sure they have access to everything, just in case. Fresh veggies are great for hydration. Depending on how easily your bunnies become stressed, it may be a good idea to take them out in a pen and give them a litter box, water bowl, and fresh hay and veggies. Lastly, I would recommend you keep phone numbers for a few emergency/regular vets near where you will be driving, just in case anything were to happen.

In ohio i know there is an animal hospital that takes rabbits near where i live. also i coild buy some basil and dark leaf lettuce and keep em in a ziplock baggie and in the cooler. i can give em some in the morning, during pit stops, and before i sleep. i plan to put a little water in a bowl and put some hay in a corner for em. They dun like the drippy bottles and won’t even attemlt it >_ i’ll aim the vents towards them and the towels blocking the sun will help keep em cool too i think. and their fav toys are cardboard tubes lol. they are simple buns XD dun need much lol

When we moved (Massachusetts to Illinois; 2 long days and just 1 night in a hotel) with Thumper, we did veggies in the cooler and got a hotel room with a refrigerator for the night. We have a little travel pen that we used in the hotel room, but we also ended up just letting him run around (after rabbit proofing) because he wanted to! We also got him a new willow toy for the ride because we know that he looooves his willow! Sounds like you have a comfy trip set up! My only worry would be when you need to stop for food or the bathroom – since there were 2 of us, we kept the car and AC going and just took turns going inside. If you can do that, I would since it’s the season for cars to get crazy hot very quickly when closed up!

A pen is great but if you don’t have room to take one, hotel bathrooms are typically pretty bunny-safe. Keep us updated on how the trip goes.

Since it was mentioned, I thought I’d pass on something from our local radio station. I knew it got hot quick but had no idea . . . The temp in a car can rise to 120 degrees in two minutes! Can rise to over 180 degrees in two hours. Scary. They were telling everyone this in relation to children, pets, and the elderly being left in the car while the driver ran in somewhere just for a minute.
