        Hi there,

My son has a bunny who is his best friend.  We adopted him so we aren’t sure of his true age but it’s around a year.  He is about 5lbs and is a lionhead.  He is just getting used to people and we have had him for about 3 months.  In the beginning he would pee on my sons bed and we restricted access to his bed.  The bunny is in his room and is litter trained.  He will not make any mess on the floor.  He was recently neutered and we decided to try the bed again.  He did nothing on the bed during the day and my son wanted to keep him out at night.  The sheets were freshly washed and the mattress had been flipped.  During the night the bunny peed on the bed and pooped but nothing on the floor and there was pee and poop in the litter box too.  My son loves him being on the bed because he snuggled with him but how can I stop him from peeing.  I thought neutering would help but it doesn’t seem to have done anything.  Any suggestions?

Some bunnies just like to pee on soft things, especially when they smell like the people they love. If neutering didn’t take care if it, you may unfortunately just have to keep bunny off the bed.

Hi tigermom! Sadly, I have to agree with Jackrabbit….. My Henry (bunny) who we (hubby and I) encouraged onto our bed did nothing but ‘SPRAY’, wee and poop on our bed till we got him neutered. Once he was neutered we haven’t had an issue with him since (huge ‘sigh’ of relief). How long since you had your guy neutered??? It does take a while for his nasty ‘boy’ hormones to leave his cute little bunny body – maybe it’s still too soon? The suggested time (and it can differ from bunny to bunny) is around 8 weeks. So keep him off the bed for this time and then give him another go.
I’m with your son (and I’m a grown up – ha ha ha….), I love having my bunny on my bed tooooo! Good luck and cheers.
