I haven’t posted anything in a long time, but I’m sure some people remember Watson. Well he has been living in a huge cage and having the run of our new house. He has been so good that I thought about not even having him neutered. I figured it would be better health-wise though so he was neutered on Wednesday and this is a picture of him after. He bounced right back like nothing happened to him.

For a few days before his neuter we had noticed a huge white bunny at the end of our street in someone’s yard but no one could catch him. We ended up knocking on the door to ask the house owners about it and it turns out that bunny was their’s and he lived in their yard with no cage for years until recently when he started digging out. They asked me if I wanted him and of course I said yes so he didn’t get killed by the big dogs next door to them. After 10 minutes we caught him and I was holding a flea infested, dirty New Zealand White bunny. He’s so much bigger than Watson is! He would not eat or drink anything and I was very worried about him. After a few rounds of fluids he started to perk up and wanted food slowly. I swear he still has his winter coat too, his fur is so thick. The owners were very happy that I wanted him because they didn’t know what to do with him. He wouldn’t have made it out there this week with our 95+ degree temps. He still doesn’t have a name, and he’s pretty gross, but someday he will be white again.

So now I have 2 bunnies confined to their cages, one in quarantine and one healing after a neuter.

He is doing even better now and I saw him drinking by himself out of the water bowl yesterday and today. Before he would only drink when I gave it to him in a syringe, which he seemed to like. He uses his litterbox and eats a ton of hay now too. He seems very happy to be living in the air conditioning. I have never seen a rabbit sleep so soundly. Still no name but I have some ideas.

He is cleaner than he was but it will take a while to be white again. He gets daily brushing in the bathtub for now.
