So, today I noticed that mainly Rumpus has been drinking a lot of water. He’s eating a little more hay than usual.

He’s literally sleeping by his water dish and every 5 minutes drinking 4 or 5 mouthfuls. They use a bowl, not a bottle, so the water isn’t dripping or splashing anywhere.

He and Mocha used to go through not even a bowl a week, and know they are drinking like a bowl a day.

He is acting like he usually does, and he doesn’t seem to feel hurt.

        Someone please help!

It’s very hard to know what it could be – it could be nothing as well.

Many times rabbits with molar spurs drink alot to help soothe their mouth.

I guess what I would suggest to you if it continues is to have a vet exam if you have concerns.

Has it been getting hotter lately? This could cause more water consumption.
If you are worried, I would go to the vet like Sarita said.

Thanks. It’s gotten a little hotter here.
I don’t want to start a new thread so if you are reading this can you please answer this question?
I was clipping Rumpus’s nails yesterday, and I felt a small lump above a nail on his left front paw. It’s not on the rest of the nails. It’s hard not squishy and he doesn’t seem to be in a lot of pain when I press it but he does seem sort of aggitated. Do you know what this is?

Has this developed recently? It could be caused by injury or infection, or it could be a very small, and most likely benign tumour. Does it seem attached to the skin or the bone, or is it not attached to anything?

It has developed recently. It wasn’t there 2 weeks ago when I last clipped them. It seems attached to the bone but it sort of moves a little.

Are you sure it’s not just his knuckle? I would guess it’s some swelling on the bone from an injury. Maybe he stubbed his toe? I would wait a bit and see if anything happens, and if it is still there, call the vet.

Okay thanks. It’s not his knuckle, i’m sure of that. He has a habbit of running bunny five hundreds into a wall (doesn’t hurt him) and he probably just hit his toe. I’ll wait for it to heal on its own until it needs attention.

Does any one know if heavy water drinking can be brought on by the start of a heavy shed?

It can. Many bunnies do eat/drink more during molts.
