Even when it’s really loud, but is terrified of a comparatively quieter steam mop. It’s just a low humming noise but I think she saw the steam emitting from the device, and panicked. Saw her hide under the chair shaking.

          Oh dear! That’s funny

Luna doesn’t mind the Hoover either, I think to because I hoover everyday so she’s used to it. She’s worked out that it isn’t going to kill her, haha. Teddy hasn’t realised yet, he hates it!
But yeah, with Luna I can hoover all around her, and sometimes I get her a bit too (oops!) but she just stays flopped!

It could be pitch that bothers her more than the volume.

My bunny Mocha adores the vacuum cleaner. She runs up to it and sniffs it and everything.
My other bun Rumpus acts all tough and growls at it, but when it gets to close he’ll run away shaking and hiding.

Bunnies can hear things we can’t, maybe the steam mop makes a high pitched sound that she doesn’t like?
My bunnies are terrified of the vaccum….:/

Jus don’t suck them up. My dog had no fear of the vacuum and one time I got too close and sucked up her tail. Emergency trip to vet, thought there wasn’t much to do about it except be more careful in the future!

Uh yeah. She screamed and she was a little Jap. chin and I felt bad, but it’s a funny story to tell if you don’t think about it too much. How bad am I? Boy was that an embarrassing phone call to the vet, especially when I used to work there!

I can’t imagine how the vacuum hurt her tail?
How did that end up with a vet trip?

Weeell, it sucked it up on the roller. Japanese chins have very long, flowing fur on their tails, so once the fur started to go, so did the rest of the tail. Ouch! I guess they figured it might be broken but there wasn’t much they would do anyway. It wasn’t like it hung there useless, so maybe just a bad bruise. She got better fast but stayed further from the vacuum after that, the poor thing.
