Does your rabbit have any funny quirky behaviors or routines?

For example, my rabbit Bobby besides only liking being petted downstairs on his pet-a-stool (ottoman that goes with my chair) – he will not stay on the couch, does not like it – he also has this funny little routine of turning around in a circle right in front of the stairs (well on the carpeted part beside the landing because the landing is a red clay tile and you know how rabbits are about tile floors) always before going upstairs.  Turn around once on the carpet and go upstairs – it’s so funny.

Butters only likes his slinky on the top floor of his cage. If I put it on the bottom floor… He’ll drag it up the ramps to the top floor.
He only begs me to pick him up. He really doesn’t like when anyone else picks him up, but he will “allow” my husband to do so if my husband insists.
Couches and chairs are for getting pets and for doing binkies.
And… I found out today… He would rather eat cat food than lettuce.

Awww, Sarita I love that picture! Bobby looks like a grumpy old man, haha!

Luna likes to go in the bathroom where she isn’t allowed, and when I go to get her, I stand in the doorway and turn on the light and she runs straight out, straight away binkying all the way!

Kieko has to have her rear end in a litterbox to eat. She’ll take a treat anywhere, but eating anything from a bowl and the butt must be in a litterbox. If we put her bowl too far from the litterbox she will either s t r e t c h to eat or will nudge the bowl until she can get her back end in the box.

                How CUTE Bobby is!
When I put the veggie plate down, Lionel always runs in a circle around it before settling down to eat.

Heca – I can totally see the slinky relocated! I tried to rearrange Kieko’s condo one time (before I knew better). She spends alot of time on the top level do I put her small willow tunnel, an extra hay mat, and more toys up there for her. By the next morning, she had stuffed all of it down the ramp and clogged up the entire opening. Looked like moving day in there!

One more odd one. . . Whenever we’re running the shop vac to clean the bunny area, Marlee insists on sitting behind it where the air blows out the back. You know the photo shoots where the sexy model has wind blowing threw her hair? Well that’s Marlee behind the shop vac! Fur blowing, lop ears straight back, head held high. Pure glamour bunny. We’ve tried moving her away, moving he shop vac against he xpen wall, etc. She always finds a way.

I love Bobby! Such tiny adorable ears and he always looks slightly disgruntled… Which makes me want to snuggle him more. I vote for more Bobby pictures.

Penny will not let a folded blanket be folded. She has to pull up one corner of it.

Monty and Inara have an escaping compulsion. If you set up an X-Pen that enclosed 99% of a room they would still escape it and lay down in that 1%. Helo hates water. When I’m re-filling crocks I sometimes use a plant watering can. He grunts and punches the water. Dexter is just a little weirdo all around but I can’t think of any super weird habits he has.

Apollo will bang his dishes bang on 8:30 every night because that’s pellet time, and after being snuggled he sits and cleans himself for a good five minutes as if he’s covered in germs. Nobody goes into the front room without returning with a handful of hay (that’s where his hay bin is kept) for him, and be will dash up and down his condo until it’s stuffed in his litter box.

My rabbit Larry throws his toys in his greens and water dishes on accident a lot. And when he does he will throw temper tantrums until I get it out. But yet when I take it out five minutes later it’s back in his dish. XD

Yeti normally hangs out on the ground level of his cage/castle/hidey box. But when he wants treats or pets he’ll hop to the 2nd level of his cage or castle. He thinks being more visible is going to help him get what he wants. Unfortunately it’s true lol

Oh my goodness, these bunnies! So friggin adorable the habits that they have! Pepper and Dio are both limited free range bunnies while we get them bonded, they have their out time in shifts, Pepper however, EVERY MORNING at 8 am, almost on the dot goes to the bottom level of her hutch and knows how to shake the door and unlatch it with her mouth and lets herself out every morning. Without fail. Dio is in an x-pen next to her hutch and when we release him for his shift, even though he has his own clean litter box in his pen, feels the need IMMEDIATELY to go to the community litter box in the living room near the front door and potty before he does anything else! Then it’s on to the serious business of zooms, binkies, and playing hide and seek in the hubby and I’s room!

Lola rubs her chin on EVERYTHING. Then Cookie comes up and rubs the same spot, then lola, then Cookie….its neverending! lol. I also always get groomed. Lola will hold my hair like she pulls her ears and then trys to clean…this is the CUTEST!

Whenever Henry wakes up from his nap he runs straight to where the dog food bowls are kept on the chance he gets to them before I pick them up.
Every time, e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y! When he’s lucky to score a piece I always chase him to get it out of his mouth, so you’d think he’d give up by now….. NOPE!
I don’t mind Henry having his routines, like putting himself to bed under my bed every morning – but this routine involving ME being constantly on the ball really sucks!

AndHenery… Butters does the same thing very morning with the cat food.

(My dog’s get starved at least twice a week when I forget to put it back down for them when Henry goes back to bed…….).

Lol I’ve done the same thing to my cats. Thankfully they jump on the counter, which I hate.
I don’t get it. My other bunny did the same thing.
I tried to give Butters his pill in a raisin. He won’t eat raisins. I tried a craisin. Nope. I tried apple sauce. Nope. I’m thinking a piece of cat food would do it.

Michelleann31 – Kieko does the same thing with the play area litterbox. She cant touch a single toy without making her contribution first! She also goes back to the litterbox to try to squeeze out one more drop every few minutes until she feels she’s marked it enough. This earned her one of her nicknames — PeeBunny (sounds like a rapper!)

Eclipse moves her greens and pellet bowls like she is practicing for the Olympic curling team! Not when it is dinner time, just because she can. For like, and I am not even exaggerating, an hour at a time. And she even lifts them up and kind of throws them. Mind you, the greens bowl is not small at all, I don’t know how she even manages that. The even funnier thing is that she has toys that she could throw around, but the only time I ever see her move them is when they are in the way of her eating hay. Bowls > Toys

I don’t know how weird this is but everytime we sit to eat here comes Cotton.  Don’t ask me how he knows he just knows.   We eat on the couch cotton suddenly appears,   We eat at the table he is suddenly there bumping out feet.  Spoilt little fuzz.  Otherwise you don’t see him until it is evening time and he is out to play chew eat and get his pettings.

And the litterbox.  He has to use the one in the living room.  He doesn’t like to use the one in his cage.  I open his door and he goes to the litterbox outside his cage.  If he is in his cage eating or drinking and needs to go its off to the litterbox in the living room lol.

Just one more . . . We have a door that leads to a storage room at the end of a hallway (aka bunny play area). We keep some bunny toys, litter for play area literbox, etc in storage room and the buns race to the door every time we go in the storage room.

Moshi has started jumping up at the doorknob. He’s a chunky little lop so it takes alot for him to jump really high so it looks more like a giant chubby flying squirrel flinging itself at the doorknob! What does he think he’s going to do if he ever reaches it?!?! He used to just state up at it and scratch the door right below it, but now he’s on a mission. Ohhhh bunnnny!

I like to give Ox loud smoochie kisses since he seems to really enjoy them; maybe it’s the vibration? Whatever it is it completely relaxes him. Anyway, whenever I give him these loud smoochie kisses he’ll do a quick mimicking tooth grind. If I keep giving smoochies it’ll get to the point where he’s trying to decide between mimicking me and purring like a mad bun and they start to get all mixed up. lol

These are so cute & funny haha. Not sure how weird this is, but Mimzy loves when I come sit on the floor, especially when I lay down. She will climb all over me, she won’t sit still though. If I’m sitting, she’s forever jumping in & out of my lap, standing on her hind legs while in my lap to smell my face. When I lay down, she goes all around me just smelling all my clothes & then jumps on my back, then off again to smell some more, & jumps back up. It’s so cute

I also never let them leave the room because there’s dogs ruling the rest of the house hehe. But Mimzy has never given up, after all the times of closing the door before she can have enough time to run out, still tries to leave the room right behind me & each time fails lol.

When Mimzy is out of hay, she will rattle the NIC hay rack non stop until I put more in there. She also loves blankets, if you put one on the floor, she digs at it, & then goes underneath it to dig at the carpet. I guess she thinks she’s digging a tunnel, silly rabbit! & Obi…I don’t feel like he has that many quirks, he’s pretty laid back. All I can think of is that when the water dish is empty, he throws it around. It’s a fairly heavy ceramic bowl I gave them specifically because Obi loves throwing his dishes around when they’re empty but nope, this one doesn’t stop him either -.-
