I adopted a year and a half y.o. bunny from my local shelter in March. He’s white, and definitely not a Dwarf. When laying down he’s about a foot in legnth, and weighs maybe 4lbs. He has blue eyes and short ears. His fur is about 3/4 inch long so I know he’s not a Rex or Angora. I forgot to ask my Vet when I brought him for a visit and am curious as to what he might be. I think I tried to attach a picture if not he’s my profile picture on here and I have a couple others on my page. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

He’s adorable – I’m guessing maybe a Netheralnd dwarf mix or a Polish.

You should be able to find out his primary breed easily. At the shelter they should have given you a little pack of papers if you read through them carefully you should be able to fund his primary breed in there

The truth is many shelters do not know the breed of the rabbit so it most likely is not going to show that on his paperwork unless the owner who surrendered the rabbit knows – if he was a stray, then they definitely won’t know…sometimes they pretty much just guess like we do.

Haha! My local humane society rarely has bunnies. When they do, the card on the cage says “Breed: Rabbit”. I don’t think they even try to guess.

Yep, at my local shelter, the species is “small and furry” and the breed is “rabbit”
Regardless of his breed, he’s adorable!
