How Do You Tell if They're Bonded?

  We rescues Scooter about a month ago. It has been 2 weeks since his neuter. Him and Charlotte will now sit together, though a few inches apart. They also will groom each other’s faces. My boyfriend, who is watching them while I am out of town, says Charlotte was giving Scooter a good washing around his ears, then was using him as a pillow for a couple of moments. Charlotte has had so many failed bondings in the past. How can we tell when the two of them are bonded?

  They are finished bonding when you can leave them alone together in any environment, and they do not show any signs of aggression, and at least a bit of affection. They aren’t bonded until they stop ignoring each other, and really use each other, cuddling, etc.
  Are your bunnies currently living together?

  They stay out together during the day, but they sleep in separate crates at night, because Charlotte has some personal space issues. Their crates are close enough so that they can smell and see each other, but far enough away so that Scooter can’t pester her.
