I’ve noticed Marlee occasionally eating stray poop in our bunny play area.  She doesn’t do it all of the time and I can’t tell if they are hers or Moshi’s.  She’ll be hopping around, come across 3 or 4 scattered poops, sniff each one, and then eat one.  She kinda acts like she found a snack.  Is this normal?  Anyone else have a bunny that does this?  (These are normal cocoa puff poops, not cecals)

Pretty sure it would be considered normal. Mine does that time to time to.

Thanks. Its gross but I can deal with it if its normal!

(Odd, but I never thought them eating their cecals was gross!)

Once I “caught” her doing that and she spit the poop in my hand, (I put my hand under her mouth) that was kinda strange…

That’s amazing that she spit it in your hand! I’m impressed! Wish mine would do that.

Yeah I made a thread on that, trying to see what it could mean. The thing I remeber was her basically telling me to get rid of it, lol bunny slave.

I caught her eating normal poop the other day and when I did what I did last time she just dropped it then sniffed it on the floor.

I’ve caught my Conan eating his poop, Xena’s (bond mate) poop, and when he was you licking up his own pee. It freaked me out but the Vet said it was all right and it was his odd quirk is all.

                      Theodore does this sometimes!
It’s gross! Which is weird cause we all know they eat some of their poop, so it’s funny that we find this kind of poop eating disgusting!

Anyway It’s supposed to be a sign that they’re not getting all the nutrients they need.

Yep! Henry does that too! I must be gross though….. once he left a stray poop on the bed and as he sniffing it, I was actually thinking ‘hope he eats that one’, cause ‘I’ didn’t want to pick it up when I got out of bed, lol! Oh, you didn’t need to know that? Oops – sorry! LOL!

AH – just saw that while eating. Yeah, thanks for sharing! (haha!)

                          Can’t say I’ve had that thought, but now that I know it’s normal . . .!
