I gave Lily her greens and hung around while she ate them. A few minutes ago, I heard something that might have been tooth-grinding. I heard it twice, while she was crouhing in place, but since then, she’s been eating, grooming, and chewing on her cardboard, and generally acting normal. She has been sneezing a little lately, so I moved the hay bale out of the room, hoping that would reduce dust.
I guess I’m just hoping this doesn’t sound like anything I should be worried about. I’ve been on my tablet with the volume on, and the clicking noise does sound a bit like tooth grinding.

Well normally if it’s tooth grinding as in pain there would most likely be other behaviors that would be indicative of pain as well. Could it be that she was just chewing and she’s a noisy eater?

She wasn’t near the food at the time She might have been chewing a strip of cardboard, but didn’t look like she was chewing. Is tooth grinding something usually visible, or do you just hear it?

            Thank you

You can usually see it as well. It looks like they are clenching their teeth and grinding very fast, side to side.

Yeh I think it was likely another noise you heard-either related to her chewing or eating something Tooth grinding usually happens when they are crouched/huddled and refusing food and hiding. Could be happy grinding?

Maybe it was happy tooth-purring because the cardboard tasted good.
If it’s not happening often, I wouldn’t worry.
