Hi everyone. Last night, I was grabbing Sienna’s
water bowl to re-fill it and he lunged and scratched my
hand! I thought he was possibly batting at the cage door,
so I tried it again with my other hand and he did the same
thing. He has NEVER been like this. Is this normal for an un-neutered
Male bunny? He will be neutered in about a month, after he’s off of his medicine.

It could be normal for any rabbit, male, female, altered or not. It could be the movement that causes him to lunge or the fact that you are fooling with his stuff that is in his cage.

As for scratching, rabbits nails don’t detract so if they lunge they may scratch – well they probably will scratch.

Some rabbits are a bit sensitive when it comes to “fooling around” with their stuff. Some find it best to change water and so on when they are out on their roaming time.
