I need help i’m am pretty sure my rabbit has broken her front leg I came home from work noticed her walking funny and that she has no mobility in it what so ever, but she still hops around and does binkys as if noting were wrong. It was so much more expensive to take her to the vet tonight so unfortunately I have to wait until the morning to take her in. I have freaked myself out by googling this and have read so many horror stories of what could be the outcome of this, it would kill me to have to amputate her leg or put her down. So if anyone has had experience in the matter and can give me any tips or advice please reply

Don’t panic – I think first and foremost you need to have a vet examine her and take x-rays before you consider anything to see exactly what the problem is and see what the vet advises.

Hopefully it will only be a sprain and not a broken leg but in any event, it’s best to quit googling and see the vet :~)

Restrict her movement tonight… Try to keep her calm and quiet….
Worst case tripod bunnies live very happy lives just like humans, dogs, cats etc….. You will still love her and that is what counts…. But for the moment care for her and get to the vet as soon as you can.

Thank you everyone Her leg was broken but not as serious as It could have been, I took her to the vet && they set it straight and put her in a splint. They said It might not heal perfectly but she will perfectly fine, It was about $300 but worth every penny to know Glenn Coco’s ok and not in pain

She’s ok the first day she seemed really down, I’m assuming because of the pain of having a broken leg set straight but shes fine now eating and drinking as usual she’s chewed on the splint a little but its still very secure and in place. She gets soo happy and excited when I come home from work I wish I could let her out but I’m just too scared to let her have free range even with the splint, but this does give me the inclination that after she heals and gets spayed she needs a boyfriend lol
