Hello!  My name is Nikki, I have 2 and 4 year old boys.  My four year old has begged for a pet for about a year and I finally decided to go for it.  I had a vet tech friend recommend bunnies.

We found 2 bunnies for adoption on craigslist, a brother and sister 13 weeks old.  One Hundred and Lulu, my four year old picked One Hundred and I haven’t been able to talk him out of it.

They seem to love each other very much.  They snuggle, groom and kiss. I set up a pen out of random tables and corn hole boards for now, but they love to roam freely so I haven’t kept them in after the first night.  They are staying in the sunroom for now, but today I will set up a bunny condo so we can keep move them inside before it gets too warm.

It seems that Lulu is litter trained and Hundred poops all over the room.  Hoping to get him trained so we can have him out and about.  I read that stretched out back legs means happy bunnies, these guys are chillin.  I think they like it here!

We will be spay/neuter as soon as possible, i don’t want a pile of bunnies.   But… call me crazy, it does stress me out to do that to an animal, and Lulu keeps popping in to my dreams to tell me that she really wants to be a mommy.  I’ll need to find away to cope with my guilt of spaying.

About my family, I am an artist.  I’ve painted all my life, but I paint big and messy so I’ve put the painting on hold while the boys are little.  Currently I am a professional Dollmaker, http://www.naptownboys.com (are links okay here?)  My husband is in the Navy and we are stationed at the Naval Academy.  My 4 year old is a climber, he wants to climb mountains and trees and my 2 year old rides his balance bike all.day.long when he’s not on his bike he is doing daring things with a skateboard that no properly supervised 2 year old should be allowed to do.  We practice attachment parenting and positive parenting and we are super excited to be a bunny family!

I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

        This is Lulu

Welcome. Lulu sure is cute. You will have to post pics of your other bunny. Don’t feel guilty about spaying your bunny. Cancer is common in unsprayed female rabbits. My vet has seen many cases and had to perform emergency spays because of signs of cancer. Spay and neutering also helps with behavior problems that come when they become hormonal. Also right now your rabbits get along but once hormones kick in I had heard rabbits start fighting. You will most likely have to re bond them. Its something to think of. I have 2 rabbits I didn’t get at the same time so I cant say for sure that is how your rabbits will behave but I have heard of others that have had that experience. So don’t feel bad about spaying and neutering its a must if you are keeping 2 rabbits together. They are territorial creatures.
Its nice to hear you are a painter. My husband was also in the Navy. He was in only 9 years and took a civilian position at the same base he had been stationed at.
Again welcome to BB this is a great site to read up and learn more about rabbits. people are super friendly and helpful with answering questions. I have learned a lot about rabbits from here.

Welcome to the forum! I’m a mommy too, my girls are 9 and 11 and last February my sister got our first bunny for her as a birthday present but she has become way more then a present, she is an equally loved and spoiled member of the family, another one of our daughters, and we added a second bunny to our brood 2 months ago to be her “husbun” and we call him our son! And yes, your babies do seem to be happy and the spaying/neutering will help with the toilet training as well. And how did you guys come up with the name One Hundred for the rabbit?! How unique, and again, welcome!
