The other day Lily was in her cage while we were eating and a loud “thump” came from her cage. We got quiet and she did it about four more times. She didn’t look mad or scared. But now she does it to the walls too. Maybe like once or twice every couple of days.. Any idea what that means?…

It could mean anything LOL. It does sound like she wants attention to me.

Hehe that is interesting. Yeah it could mean about anything. My bunny Kilala thumps a lot. She will thump before binking and doing her running around. So who knows maybe she is playing around. Rabbits sure can be silly and mysterious little creatures.

Bumpy used to thump whenever he wanted out of his pen. Once he started being out 18-20hrs a day, he stopped doing that. haha! But he will still on occasion thump at me if his greens are too late!

Marlee is our biggest thumper. She thumps if something scares her, if we change anything, if I’m not dishing out salad fast enough, if I forgot her papaya pill, etc. Moshi thumps when he starts a bunny 500, thumps off doors to pick up speed, and during binkies sometimes. Kieko thumps at Marlee and Moshi. Oh, Marlee also thumps when my son sings!

Ok “thumping” is the term I was looking for!

She did it again tonight when a loud noise occurred! So I guess it does mean a lot of things. And she generally goes to a specific wall to thump on lol …. I just wanted to be sure it didn’t mean anything like stress or anger.

I was laughing my butt off this one time mine did that. My Mom came in the room and Peony hopped to the feeding spot. Then Mom got distracted and started to talk to me while looking at something.. *THUMP!* my mm was like oooohnonono you didn’t not when I am giving you food.

She also likes to thump a lot when exploring under he bed or couch, haven’t figured out that one out.

Then I think she does the give me attention thumps. Sometimes around ehh 7 pm I think? I can be at my computer or something, I look at her.. *THUMP* .. im like what?

My bun has never thumped. Ever.

When my Dad was a child, they had a pet rabbit. Whenever she was taken off the couch, she would give a loud series of *THUMP* and then hop right back onto the couch.

She has thumped a few more times.. Usually when I go over to her and give her a few pets she stops.. I believe it’s an attention thing!! But that’s okay

Congrats! Lily has decided to allow you to be her human and she’s begun training you! You are officially a bunny slave!

                            That is funny.

Oh this one is smart and moody. Now when I get the carrier (not even trying to get her in yet) she thumps and runs away from me. (Sorry but you need your teeth filed lol)

These animals are so awesome, Dio I have yet to hear thump, but he’s only been a member of the family for a couple months. Pepper on he other hand, HATES the vacuum! Even though it’s a quiet Dyson, when I roll it out, even before I plug it in, she runs up to me and THUMP! I tell her I’m gonna turn it on and she goes in my room and lays on the bed, or jumps up on the couch and watches me vacuum, and when I’m done she will run around it, give it the bunny look of disapproval, and thump at it a few more times. She also hates the hand held dirt devil and on days when I am vacuuming out her hutch in the living room with it she will hop around me, WHILE IT IS ON as I am vacuuming out her house, and thumps at me. After I’m all done and put it away she goes under the couch and thumps a couple more times just to make sure we understand it displeases the princess.

                                So funny!

Lily has been with me for a month now … I’m learning her behaviors and she is learning how to test me! Because she is more comfortable she is beginning to find new things in the apartment. She has me pretty busy these days. Her first order of business is chewing! And her first victim was my boyfriend’s most expensive pair of shoes!! Luckily I was watching when she attempted the demolition and removed them from her reach ( which is growing ) .. Many chew toys and such have been placed in her primary play areas to prevent chewing on our things but she is much more interested in what we have than what she has lol.

I’ve learned that Lily is most active at 10 AM this is her breakfast time and when she does most of her activities… However on Saturdays and Sundays I’m not home at 10AM. My boyfriend was sleeping this morning and heard THUMP-ing from her cage. He looked at the clock ( 10:38AM ) she was obviously demanding he let her out to play lol ..
