For those of you who didn’t see before… I made this a couple of weeks ago.

         photo imagejpg3_zpsf1d5d118.jpg

I’ve saw these on the net… And figured with my limited carpentry skills.  It seemed easy enough… And it was!  I would definitely recommend this for those carpet digging buns.  Also once the sisal gets icky… It’s easy to change.

This weekend the hubby and I made an activity table.

Bonus… The cats like it too.

I’m not done with it.  I have different chews I want to put on it, but I need to get a blade for my scroll saw.  Super easy to make, and I saved myself $30.00 on the digging station and $75 on the activity table (because it’s an x-large size).

Also made the toss toy on the floor. I’m going to be making key rings and such, for play also.

They also have a cover for the activity table, you can make out of fleece, for an instant hidey house.

Has anyone else made toys they’ve seen on the net to save some money?

Those are great! I too have seen toys like that but haven’t purchased any. You did an awesome job of making those! I really like that activity table. I have bought toy making kits from someone I have purchased toys from. I have made various toss toys and hanging toys with the stuff I got in the kit.

            Thanks.

Ive thought of buying those kits too.  It’s nice that someone thought to put them together.

I just noticed I put DYI instead of DIY…. That’s a Lupus brain for ya.

You shouldn’t have said anything HECA – I didn’t notice you said DYI till YOU pointed it out, ha ha ha ha…..
We made Henry’s house (half his roof is plywood) and the hubby said it wouldn’t be hard to add to it, thanks for the idea – brilliant! Cheers.

What?  I have no idea what you’re talking about.  I meant DYI like, Do Yourself In.  Which is what one might do taking on these projects.

My hubby built Butters’ cage too.  Though I’d still like to add some decorative trim to it, so it’s more like furniture. Although I have all the ideas and non of the energy to take on these projects. Which means sometimes I’m the supervisor.

I am the supervisor! LOL! I draw up what I want and expect it to look and work just like my picture, ha ha hah…..
I remember years and years ago when I bought my first house on my own and as I was saving to have some garden edges done so I could landscape (fancy way of saying plant lots of cheap plants) my backyard I drew up a ‘plan’ of my garden. After this was accomplished I held a birthday party at my house, my work colleague (who endured my many hours of me even colouring in my picture/plans) walked out and stated – ‘it looks just like your picture’! At the time I was so proud – now I think back and cringe….. how pathetic! But I still have to have a laugh at myself cause I still do it to this day……. I still have to landscape around the pool area – wanna see my drawing’s??? Ha ha ha ha ha…..
PS – and boy do I hate it when I give my picture/plan to a tradie (paid professional) and he doesn’t follow it – I had a concrete path laid when my mum passed (booked in, and forgot he was coming under the circumstances) and didn’t check before I paid him (I just wanted him gone) – I HATE it to this day! cause it’s nothing like my drawing/picture. And who wants to dig up a concrete path……

Oh, and according to HECA’s first post, the ‘rope’ is sisal.
