Not that I am complaining. Lol. I rather like it.

All of my rabbit have been “lap rabbits”  as in they would hop up in my lap and want to be pet for a few minutes before doing their own thing (with the exception of Banji because he was mostly blind and often missed the whole couch).

Not Enki and Xena. Xena started off rather aloof which is normal and expected. She started letting me pet her if I had food in my hand or if Enki was being pet. But now if they are out either I let them on my lap or my arms get dug on until I move them and let them on my lap. Once there neither move until I get up.

Enki is the worst of the two it doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing he wants in your lap or you to pick him up (I kid you not). If you don’t pick him up he seems to have picked up a habit from my cat of running ahead of you and flopping over as soon as you get to him (when both my cat Popcorn and Enki do it at the same time I never fail to laugh). It is WEIRD!!! But then again Enki is Mr. oddball.

Xena just digs at my arms until I let her in my lap or forces her way under my arm to get to my lap.

And walking freely is a non option. It is like they know when I am going to another room and I have one at my heels and one at my toes hopping right along as I walk.

        They are velcro bunnies.

Haha! Wish you could get that on video. Something I’d loved to see!

          Lol Velcro bunnies.

Between all your pets, I’m betting your personal space gets invaded a lot. :p
(btw, I was wondering after you and the buns just an hour ago. I have a weird habit of thinking of different bb members i havent “seen” around and then within a day they post. )

Awww….your lucky. Both my buns love pets and cuddles but they will never sit on my lap.

Glad to hear from you. I’ve been wondering how your new duo was making out.

Now that my classes are out for the summer I will be around more.

Lol if I think about it I will video my cat and Enki being weird.

With all of my pets personal space doesn’t exist. There is always one on or around me.

They are both getting along very well. Xena is definitely the dominant one in their relationship. She is a bossy butt.

The video of your can and the bun would be hilarious.

                You’re lucky.
My new bun is becoming quite the lap rabbit, and follows me as well. I love every minute of it.

                    Awe that sounds sweet.

Cotton hops on top his cage which I HAVE to keep next to me by the couch.  Otherwise he cannot find his cage. Its so funny.  Even tho I show him where it is over n over and give treats. HE will not go into it I have to put him in physically.  So I just put it back by the couch.

He hops up there eats his greens asks for pettings (bunny lovings)  hops off to eat pellets or chew and comes back for more lovin. My lap no way. If I pick him up to put on my lap he runs.

So funny your pets are in your feet.  One will lie in front of you when you are trying to walk lol Yes I would love to see that too.  The other on your heels. Oh what characters.  Digging at your arms til they get in your lap or under your arms til they get in your lap   I had a dog like that.  Bunnies doing that wow.

Your bunny likes in your arms in the house like that wow.  What a bunny.  Thats great.  Talk about  lover bunnies wanting in your lap or to be picked up and in your feet.  Velcro bunny.  Sounds like it. Gee how cool.  Wish mine was like that.  Lucky you

It is pretty adorable. My arms however suffer if Enki doesn’t get his way since no matter how short his nails are they are like razors.

Xena is at the vet currently. She had a pretty scary seizure this morning and then her head started tilting. I had her and Enki out to play while I got dressed. They were running around my bed when I heard a bang and when I looked over Xena was literally flinging herself all over the place. I grabbed her and set her on the floor so she wouldn’t hurt herself and she flung around for a few seconds and then rolled over on her side and was running but not going anywhere and started seizing. Once she calmed down she was drooling and kind of chewing on nothing and her eyes were super wide. Once she “snapped out of it” her little head started tilting. I took her to the vet and she doesn’t have an ear infection so they took blood and ran an MRI on her. Right when we were being sent home with some antibiotics she had another seizure so she is staying overnight.

It’s fortunate you’re on school break & can keep close eye on her.

Yes I am glad it didn’t happen while I was at school and she was in her cage. It was violent flinging she would fling herself so high that she would reach my shoulder.

It was extremely scary to see.

Now that lionheads are a recognized breed, I wonder if there’ll be more literature come out on why some are afflicted by seizures.

Breed aside, does your vet have any theories on what’s causing it? Did the vet witness the 2nd one?

She suspects an infection somewhere in her body since her ears were clear or genetics but ran an MRI to make sure she doesn’t have any swelling on her brain or lesions. If a 3rd one happens they will be giving her an anti-seizure medication.

The vet was there when the 2nd one happened she was putting her back in the carrier when Xena flung herself over the carrier and into the floor.

Xena has a 3rd seizure yesterday afternoon and was put on a benzo and hasn’t had one since. The results from her tests won’t be back until next week so they still aren’t sure what is causing the tilt or the seizures so she is on the benzo and baytril. The tilt is non existent today and she is acting pretty much normal. I was able to bring her home this morning.

Enki is now the one at the vet. I would say I am surprised but I am not unfortunately. He has been sick since I brought him home as a baby and even now they haven’t found a medication that works on him. He has done pretty well just the occasional stuffy nose or runny nose but it has progressed into pneumonia this time even with him being on medication. While his prognosis according to the vet is not good I am still holding out hope that he will pull through.

Oh Sonn, I was in here yesterday and was going to comment on how glad I am that you were able to bring Xena home for Enki…my goodness I wish you could catch a break with your bunnies, they seemed to be so happy.
Glad to hear the benzo is helping with Xena’s seizures. I think another rabbit I read about had to be on this long term but it did help. I wish we knew why lionheads had this problem.
Pip seized two years ago but luckily hasn’t had one since. I think it may have been heat that brought it on as it was a sweltering year that June, but when Mimzy came down with headtilt the next day we put them all on Panacur for 28 days, so I will likely never know for sure what caused it.
I hope Enki will be feeling better soon too and they both can get back to being sweet on one another.
((((((((((Massive hugs)))))))))) coming your way. You’re on break so you should be able to enjoy yourself! “Happier times ahead” vibes for you!
