So, I haven’t been around a lot due to a huge move this last week. Just wanted to let you guys know that it went well, and both buns are doing great. They have over triple the space, due to all the floors being finished industrial cement and very little woodwork. SO, my problem comes in the form of getting the rabbits to go to bed. Ashe was clicker trained to go in her pen and Moogle just put himself away after about 2 hours of play time. Now that we have moved, I have to chase the rabbits back into their pens because they will not obey commands since we moved. I know they are just super excited, but it really stinks when it takes me 3 hours (I kid you not) to find and get the rabbit to bed. I think I may have to restart the clicker training, or perhaps the problem will fix itself over time. Any advice?

If you haven’t been there that long, they may just be busy exploring. But sometimes when big things like that happen, you need to re-train them to go to bed/go to cage/go in litter box. Maybe you should limit there space until the problem is fixed so you can find them easier?

          I wish you luck!

I was going to suggest limiting their space for awhile as well or perhaps if your rabbits love a particular treat you can entice them with it. I recently bought a new expen and I have expanded their free range area in the main living room. Sometimes they don’t want to go back to their room and I recently discovered my rabbits love dried cranberries so I will get a small piece and one of my rabbits really loves those and he will run a little and stop run in a circle several times until he is in his room so he can get his treat. Its really cute to see. I have also split their pellet feeding for half in the morning and half at bedtime because I had a hard time getting them to go in their cages at night when they were caged nightly. They are no longer caged unless I need to clean their rooms. My rabbits are motivated by food I guess. hehe

I was using craisins but that stopped working lol. Now when I say treat he runs away! Also, Ashe has reverted back to her highly aggressive habits of biting/boxing. I can’t even touch her without being boxed. This is also the first day I have gotten her out of her cage.

It sounds like they have too much space too soon

I just feed my rabbits dinner when it’s time for them to go back in their pen. Works like a charm! They can ignore treats, but they won’t ignore dinner when they’re hungry.

I am in agreement with Elrohwen. I do the same thing but with Lulu I put her to bed with her nightly pellets.
