        Hello!

Ernie is at a point where he is ready to shed a lot of his fur to cool down for spring. I can tell because when I pet him, huge chunks of fur come out. Sometimes I gently tug at tufts of fur and they instantly and easily come loose. My problem is that he never sits still for me to get much fur, even though I know he’s way too hot and this will help cool him down. I never tug fur in a hard way or pull at fur that isn’t ready to come out. Do you have any advice? Any specific brushes that work particularly well? The hairbuster comb is no longer for sale on the site as fare as I can tell. Also, once I do obtain a brush, how do I get my furry goofball to sit still?!

Thanks and I hope everyone had a good bun-worshipping Easter!

The hairbuster is actually making a comeback-the BB store should have them in stock soon. Another good brush is the small animal furminator. You can also use wet hands, lint rollers, or kitchen gloves to pull the extra fur off him.
How to get him to sit still-FOOD!

My buns HATE grooming and would never sit still on the floor or in my lap. I set up a grooming station on the kitchen table, get all my grooming tools ready and sit bunny on a towel. This is the only way I can groom them. Make sure, if you do this, to never leave bunny unattended even for a minute at any height. And make sure to always follow grooming with a tasty treat to make it a more pleasant experience for bunny.

I use the Living World small animal brush on Simon and it works well and is relatively inexpensive. He also hates being groomed but I just pick him up and brush him and he stays still for me.

Thanks everyone! I’ll give this another try with a piece of banana in hand.
