        Hello!

I know that i’m supposed to help my bunny get at least two hours of exercise a day but with his current schedule (I think) he doesn’t seem to get active until about a half hour or so before I have to go to bed and close his cage. I go to school and get home around 4-5 and open his cage immediately and I feed him for the second time in the day when I have dinner. I go to bed at about 9:30-10:30 and he doesn’t stand up, stretch and yawn until about 9-10. I need help adapting him to my schedule so he’s more active between 4-9 so that he’s not deprived of exercise. I don’t want to reach in and take him out (I would have to because he usually hangs out on the third floor of his cage) because I don’t want to scare him or make him afraid of me..

Is it possible to help him be more active earlier and not at night?

        Thank you!

Rabbits are most active during dawn and dusk. Do you let him run around when you wake up? I don’t really think there is anything you can do, but my rabbits love play time so they always run around when I open their pen door Maybe you can let him run around in an enclosed area outside so he will be more interested and excited.

I open the cage as soon as I get home and he is free to run around my room for about 6 hours but he never gets out. I’m only up for about 20 minutes or so before I leave in the mornings, so I id feel bad just letting him out for a short 10-15 minutes then closing him back up.

I’ve found that it’s pretty impossible to change their natural schedule. I wouldn’t worry too much – if the cage is open and he doesn’t want to come out, that’s ok.
