Hi everyone I currently have a female lop and even though Ive just had a baby I thought I’d give myself more work & adopted a buck companion!

He’s not been neutered yet and I have his cage set up next to Chicas (female).

Obviously I won’t bond them until hes had his op & hormones have settled but where do I let them have play time separately?

When I let Chica out he gets frustrated through the cage & thumps plus looks stressed. When I let him out and he sniffs Chicas cage she nips him.

Not sure how Im going to continue this for at least 4 weeks…help!! x

Well, bonding rabbits in and of itself can be very stressful so keep that in mind. Do you have a neutral space that you plan on bonding them?

Do you truly have the time with a new baby to bond a pair of rabbits :~)

I don’t think this behavior is going to stop with both rabbits in the same space using the same play space as well.

          Is Chica spayed yet?

Yes theres a fee neutral aeras in my house amd may not be perfect time but never will be if Im havibg/have a family. Chica has been lonely since the baby arrived and whilst im on maternity I thought I could get her a friend.

She was spayed a couple of years ago. I let her out to play in our room but when she ran back into the rabbit room he kept coming over to the cage to see her so dont know how to avoid this

Well they are naturally curious of each other and if they are in the same house/same room it’s just inevitable this is going to happen. Hopefully they will calm down.

Yes hopefully. Hes getting neutered on Thursday so think I will move females cage into my room so she can run about without him stressing when he sees her.

Also means he can have the rabbit room to himself so Im not feeling guilty about them getting out long enough.
