        Hi everyone,

First of all … Im from Belgium, so sorry for my ‘not that good’ english

Me and my husband finally desided to take a bunny so I’m really excited!

There is just one problem… We cant deside what breed we want.

We are looking for a bunny that’s not to small and which is kind of cuddly and people-loving…

We live in a appartment and we can provide a nice little house for the nights to sleep in, but not a real cage, we want the bunny really to ‘live’ with us… So free running in our living room, our house is his house…

I hope we can find some advise here about what breed fits best in our family

Welcome! Your English is fantastic, don’t worry about that at all! I know native English speakers who can’t write as well as you! Haha 😉

It sounds like most any breed should work well for you! If your long term goal is a free range rabbit (one who has run of the house either all day and caged at night OR all day and night), you might even consider a medium or large rabbit. Larger rabbits tend to be calmer while smaller rabbits tend to be more hyper, but they can all make wonderful house pets.

What kind of resources do you have where you live? Do you have rabbit rescues or shelters?

What do you mean with resources?

We live on an appartment but its very big , so there is plenty of room.
There is also a garden for al the owners here where he could run and play, but including us, there are only 2 families living here and only we use the garden

There are a lot of flemish giant breeders and French lob breeders around here, we have a shelter in our city, but only little dwarf bunnys ..

I think Beka means any rabbit rescues as resources….

Little dwarf bunnies are fun – I have had all sizes of rabbits and love the big and the small. As for cuddly and people loving….those aren’t breed specific – most baby rabbits are cuddly until they reach maturity and then they are less cuddly – that’s just how most rabbits are.

I think it would be worth you looking at the shelters to rescue a rabbit and if they are adults you will be more able to tell about their personality than you would with a baby rabbit.
