I’m thinking of buying the I-click (the training clicker) from bb. I want to train my rabbit tricks. I know that the clicker can train rabbits but my question is how. How does it do it? I want Jughead to be active and entertained. Should I buy it?

        Thanks!

          Hi,

Be sure to watch this video. It will teach you how to clicker train and touch train your rabbit as well as teach you how it works. I would recommend that you buy a clicker if you want to train your rabbit. Once you touch train or clicker train a rabbit, you can pretty much get them to do most tricks. Be sure to check out this person’s channel as soon as you have a chance. She has great rabbit videos!!!

They first said to teach your rabbit to associate the click sound with treats. So give him a treat and click. Once he’s learned that – then you can try to teach him simple tricks. The easiest for me to teach my buns was ‘Up’. Just hold the treat above his head, when they stand up, then click and give him the treat.

The there’s walk – where once he’s standing up, lead him forward by moving the treat away. My buns do better with this, when I keep it pretty close to their nose, and lead away slowly.

Spin was a little more complicated – but lead them in a circle with the treat, and when the circle is complete, click.

Be sure to use the same sound and hand motions as well.

My buns have also learned, ‘hands’ – where they stand up, and place both paws in my hand. They also jump through hoops, and jump on top of their igloo. They get excited when I get their treat box, and say ‘Tricks for Treats’!

Thank you for the tips BBM! I never knew you could teach tricks like those to rabbits! I will surely be teaching Jug, or trying to teach him, those tricks. Seriously though, your buns must be so cool.
