        It seems like there’s always something wrong with fluffy… Today she has been sitting in a corner for the longest time and won’t touch her food. She did a few poops although they were really small. This happened in the past where I gave her simethicone and tummy massages and she was better after an hour or so. But this time its been like 6 hours and i had to feed her critical care cause she wouldn’t eat. I thought this was just a small tummy upset. What should I do?

        (Ps. Yesterday she ate a few chips.. could that have caused it?)

          It’s hard to know – when was the last time you had the vet check her teeth?

            Did you take her to the vet? If not, you should take her ASAP.

            I hope she feels better

              Sarita- around 2 weeks ago when she had her spay surgery done.

              I can’t get her to the vet as its 11 pm at night.. Plus everything will be closed because of the long Easter weekend

                I agree with getting her teeth checked but at the moment I think hydration is something that needs to be addressed as small poops could be caused by that (not drinking enough can also be a tooth problem) try syringing some water or see if she will eat some moist herbs… I’ve had to say this a lot lately as it seems to be something that is happening a lot… Nice aromatic hers like mint, basil, parsley, coriander or dill will sometimes get them started eating and get some water into their system… empty her litter tray frequently so you can keep track of what is coming out and keep lots of fresh hay available.

                  I agree with Roberta. Kieko is going through a bout with GI stasis now (been to the vet 3 times since last Wednesday. At this point , vet has us giving her wet salads 2x per day plus the regular unlimited hay & fresh water (she will eat salad but not much hay & only drinking a little water). She was given sub-q fluids at each vet visit. I also started putting additional hay in a new place — she thinks this is special hay so she’s eating some of it! Between the wet salad & the “special” hay, her poops are getting a little bigger & increased quantity.

                    {{{Fluffy}}}

                    What had she been like in the lead up to this?

                    Do you still have pain meds from after her spay? (Ring the vet and ask if ok to give any if you have some.)

                    Given what was happening during lead up to her spay, I really encourage you speak with the vet that did her surgery.
                    Another possibility is adhesions forming on the scar. This can happen around 2-3wks post surgery and even much later.
                    I would ask if an appt could be considered a follow-up which is usually a reduced consult fee.

                      Sounds like stasis. Umtil you can take her asap, like jughead suggested, I agree try to get some water into her. Do you know how to take her temperature? If it is under 101, I would warm up a towel and wrap her in it. Just be careful not to overheat her, and monitor her temp.

                        Thanks, she went back to normal that same day and her poops are normal now. When this happened though her tummy was making gurgling noises and when I’d massage it she would grind her teeth. I think it was the chips!

                            I’m glad your bunny is feeling better! Not fun to have a sick bunny at Easter.

                            If your bunny gets several episodes like this, it’s a really good idea to have a vet look into it. It could be a teeth issue or something else.
