        Hi,

Hopefully someone may have some advice. My male lionhead lop cross has had a v shaped bald patch appear on his mid-back section. There are a few fine flakes and the skin is normal. He is fine in himself, eating and drinking normally and binkying when out of his cage. He’s passing normal stools and is very active when out of his cage. We have a one year old jackhuahua who always chases and tries to mount the rabbit when he is out of his cage. We’re wondering if this could be the trigger or his recent moult could be it. It’s appeared over the last month.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

        Thank you,

        Sharna

Yup, sounds like molting patterns. Some bunnies shed in a “V” pattern, others just get plain old bald spots.

This is a common time of year for buns to molt, due to the changes in light outside. Both my buns are molting like crazy right now.

Make sure to groom everyday during a molt to prevent hair ingestion.
