Now that Lola is fully recovered with her spay, I have begun re-bonding them.  Right now, they are getting along perfectly in neutral territory.  I’m hoping that since they were bonded before Lola’s hormones kicked in, they will re-bond quickly.  Lola has asked Bailey to groom her several times, and Bailey has obliged a couple of those times.  I think that we are ready to move on to semi-neutral territory.  I’ll upload pictures of that as it happens.

If any of you have any special tips on bonding, feel free to share them.  I tried putting banana on Lola’s head to encourage Bailey to groom her every time she asks, but she just cleans the banana off of her own head immediately.  Silly bunny!

So, Bailey keeps going to groom Lola, but Lola gets scared when Bailey approaches her and runs away. It seems like the more they’re together, the more scared Lola gets since Bailey is so persistent in trying to approach her. They aren’t fighting; they just seem to be on very different wavelengths. Any advice?

That’s how Foo and Jaxx are-on different wavelengths half the time. They don’t fight, just miscommunicate. As soon as their stiches are out from their spays, we were going to have them switch spaces for the night and then have them meet again in a nuetral area.

How long are your bonding sessions?

Sorry I haven’t kept things super updated. I’ve been busy with school, volunteering, the boyfriend, and obviously bonding, so I haven’t been online much. Things are progressing REALLY quickly! They are in semi-neutral territory together now, and they are getting along wonderfully. I have lots of photos!

Here’s Bailey flopped in front of Lola for the first time:

And here’s a kind of dark photo, but Bailey was grooming Lola before I got the camera out and Lola moved:

They have become quite the mischief team, causing all kinds of trouble. But they’re doing it all together, and they lie down beside each other all the time. They seem I really like each other. At this rate, they should have their permanent set-up all ready by the end of the week.

I’m now considering them bonded. They love each other. They do EVERYTHING together. I’ve been calling them the mischief twins because they have been so naughty, chewing and scratching everything. Bailey was never a digger, but she has picked up on it from Lola. But they are both adorable and have been very loving to each other and us humans!
