        Hello everyone —

If any of you are not familiar with the story, over 200 rabbits were seized from a hoarding situation in Harrison County, WV on Friday night.  A few came to Rabbit Wranglers in Pittsburgh in terrible & horrifying conditions.

This is the condition of the first rabbit that came into Rabbit Wranglers….

There are still over 100 that need transport across the country.   Even if you can be a “leg” in the transport for a few hours, YOU ARE VERY VALUABLE.  Please message me or comment below if you’re interested in helping these buns reach their final destinations so they can get the medical attention they desperately need & deserve.  They ALL have rescues/shelters in which they are going.  If you are willing, throw out your local area and how far you are willing to travel and I will have the appropriate people contact you to help make plans.   If the rabbits are not secured in our care by Wednesday night/Thursday morning, they will be released to the public for free.

DESPERATELY NEED TRANSPORT IN LEGS FROM WEST VIRGINIA TO MINNESOTA BUT MANY OTHERS AS WELL.  West Virginia to Minnesota will have 40 rabbits in need of travel.

        PLEASE HELP!

Maybe I could help. I don’t know if I could drive as I am not near West Virginia or Minnesota, but I can donate for vet bills.

            Will cross post.

I wouldn’t know I was looking at a rabbit in that photo! Looks like someone holding a bunch of wool.

            ETA: I posted this link.

Sad, it’s just a neverending story – I’ve heard of 3 other confiscations too that have just happened and so close to Easter :~(

You might contact House Rabbit Society to see if they have some volunteers that can help transport.

I live in DC and could do a leg with up to 6ish carriers. I’d be willing to drive 6-8 hours from pickup to drop off.

Unfortunately, today only 25 bunnies could be saved. 12 others were being held but no one would say why they would not release them.

114 were left there on Friday. No one knows where the others went. Officer in charge will not say. All sick & injured.

                    Ugh. Bad day for rescue.

Very unfortunate for the remaining rabbits. More of a bad day for the rabbits. These situations can be very complicated and many times just don’t get resolved in the best interest of the animals. Even if they were euthanized in my opinion that is a better outcome than being in a hoarding situation.

We are working to get more out. It seems the Humane Officer (despite a judges order) agreed to let the lady keep 10-15. Her daughter-in-law has contacted the main rescue (who is located there) helping to let her know the woman still has rabbits & all are in terrible conditions, along with a few litters. The daughter-in-law infomed us that she is connected with a breeder….. talk about a double-whammy…. breeder AND a hoarder…

Anyways, the daughter-in-law is going back tomorrow to see how many are left altogether when the woman is not home. She refused to let her in another room so she believes she is hiding more back there. Let’s pray we get more of them since we know more are left behind…. Just ridiculous, the whole situation.

Stella, a few have come to Pittsburgh (6 in total I believe) and a few Angoras may be on their way out for rehab as well. All have URI’s and a lot have abscesses. It’s a terrible situation. I’ll get on tomorrow or tonight and post some before/after pictures of the ones who have been rescued. It’s truly amazing to see how happy they are now.
