I had a small Ziplock bag of calf manna supplement from the breeder for my holland lop. I went to buy more from Tractor Supply and a local feed store and the only brand they carried was Manna Pro. I bought it, and my bunny has no interest in it. He used to freak out with excitement and joy if I gave him a pellet of the old stuff (I used it as a very occasional treat for training purposes, I know it is not a regular diet food). I was told there may be another brand he is used to, but I cannot contact the breeder…does anyone know of any other types of calf manna? Thanks!

I would just start him on Oxbow. It’s a high quality brand and you can find it at Petsmart or on-line.

Do you mean use Oxbow for his regular food? I purchased some pellet food from my breeder that is a “Show” formula containing Yucca, Papaya, and Probiotics…I am supposed to continue feeding him this once my food is gone…I think what they use is called Manna Pro “Sho” Formula Feed..I found it at Tractor Supply Co. and it contains all these ingredients. I am trying to keep his diet consistent with what the breeder fed him but I live hours away and cannot buy food from them always (they don’t ship either)..of course they don’t tell me what it is called because they want me to buy from them.

The calf manna was just used as a treat, but I cannot find the exact one my breeder uses.

Keep in mind that show formulas are not meant to keep a rabbit alive and healthy for many years, they are to get a rabbit to an ideal weight and size for showing, which is to judge the rabbit for other uses. A good quality pellet like Oxbow would be the best sort of pellet to have him on for long term health.
