Got a new 8 week old dutch rabbit a few days ago and she is crazy. She is a very sweet, super social and curious bunny. Her cage is a whitmor c&c cage I made. Its 3 1/2 feet tall. Lola will jump/climb all the way to a top corner, latch on to the bars with both front and back legs for a good 5 seconds, then let go. It is hilarious but scary at the same time because I don’t want her to break a leg. I soon will be buying wood to make a second level in her cage so she can’t climb so high. Is it normal for rabbits to be crazy and climb stuff? She has plenty of toys and a few boxes to play in, but she always wants to escape her cage lol. And litter training.. I have a litter box in each corner, but it doesn’t matter. She will just pee in the middle of the cage. Although I’ve caught her on time and put her in the litter box to go pee a few times.

Young bunnies seem to be climbers. My Wooly was a little Spider Bun when he was a baby. He would climb the baby gate and whatnot. They seem to outgrow it as they get bigger, but some bunnies just transition into being jumpers. LOL

oh no, I hope Bumpy doesn’t turn into a jumper!!! He climbs only one rung up on his x-pen, that’s him begging for treats, but he will hang on for quite a bit of time before letting go. He’ll be 1 yr old on or around May 30th.

My rabbit will be 3 yrs soon. He’s not a climber of cages or that sort of thing. But he IS a climber of couchs, tables, really any furniture. So it is possible will transition to that type of behaviour.
I like to think of Ziggy as adventurous. He’s my little Indiana Jones.
