My rabbit has not pooped for a few days. He pooped a tiny bit yesterday, though. His stomach was rumbling for a few days, so I was giving him baby gas X, which seemed to help. Tonight the tummy rumbling started again. This isn’t the first time he’s had this, he seems to be prone to it. I know it’s called GI Stasis, however, it’s normally only lasted for 2 days at most with him, then he’s back to pooping normally. I’ve been giving him digestive tablets, greens, and baby gas X to try and get things moving along. I’ve also done tummy massages, but it’s not working. His stomach isn’t hard, though. He’s running around, playing and eating like normal. I don’t know what to do now, because my vet is closed on the weekend. AH, help!

What he needs is a lot of hay. Fill his hay bin, give him fresh water, and go lightly on the combination of digestive tablets and gas x to avoid mixing medicines. I would say the gas x is the best for him. But the hay is what he needs daily, in unlimited quantity, to get his gut moving and stay moving. If he doesn’t like Timothy, switch to Oat. If that doesn’t work, go to 2nd cut timothy, or Orchard Grass. But try to get him to eat the regular Timothy or Oat Hay as those are the best for his digestion.
If he doesn’t improve within the next few hours, please call your vet and describe his condition in detail. You may need to bring him in asap to have her inject fluids or meds to get him going again. He may need critical care instead of regular food, but your vet is the one who should examine him and find out exactly how bad his situation is. Do not wait 24 more hours.

Hi, I just got back from a very friendly emergency vet clinic. The vet confirmed my suspicions, he does have stasis. He’s on medicine now that he must take for 10 days. He’s on an all leafy green/hay diet, no pellets for the next 10 days (vets instructions).
