Cotton went for a run again today.  I took him by the river cuz it has more shade and is cooler there.  NO cars driving by either.  Even tho we aren’t near the road there is parking and grassy area to run at my building he still doesn’t like the cars coming by on ourdead end road.

He had a good time sprinting about.  I run behind him giggling and laughing thumping away.  HE has one ear forward and one back listening to me.

He looked a little panicked and kept flicking his foot and stopping to lick his big thumper.  The 3rd time I was going to pick him up and check his foot but he got a round burr out of it.  Poor fellow.  That had to hurt.

Yes he did have that same panicked look in his eye that he had yesterday when the car went by and he ran into the 3 inch round tree.  So it was panic I now doubt eyesight.  Even tho he didn’t run like he normally does when panicked.

Running into the black xpen I can see cuz its black and we have a green rug and it is dark near the table and the xpen is only there when I have to catch him and block him from going back under the table. He wasn’t running when he  ran into the xpen either.  He went slow. So I think he knew it was there just making sure.

HE had fun today tho.  I do too when i take him out. Then I sit on our porch and hold him petting and talking to him.  He gives tooth purrs. HE loves the attention.

That sounds like a fun time, except for the burr. He is the most tame bunny I’ve ever heard of. I kind of want to say to our other members “don’t try this at home” because no one else has been able to take a bunny outside, in a little wagon, in a grocery store cart, on docks, the way you have with Cotton. A very special little guy.

Now that you live in a new home, I just hope the outdoor places are not sprayed with pesticides. My yard here would be terrible to let Sammy out, they do so much stuff to all the growing things. (I’m amazed the grass grows at all, it’s so full of chemicals.) Do you take a little xpen outdoors with you, BT? If he gets panicked, maybe a portable one to limit his run area might make him feel safer. Just a thought.

The yards aren’t sprayed.  Just every 2 months the edge of our buildings are sprayed so we stay away from there.

Cotton doesn’t panic like he used to outside.  Since being at my Moms and coming back here he has done so much better.  Its at parks he totally panics and goes crazy.  Plus the danger of dogs even on leashes.

He hasn’t totally gone crazy in a whole year. So thats good.  He loves running outside.  HE is spoiled.  The xpen is a drag to take outside downstairs n upstairs.  By the dock is the best safest place for him to run.  We have a clubhouse building so he doesnt see cars come by or hear them. There is no road back there. It is a no panic area.  Except for burrs.

He used to panic and go crazy.  He doesn’t do that anymore. I think he realizes he can run away and I follow or squat down and he jumps into my arms.  So he doesn’t go  crazy and lose his mind anymore.  If I put him next to the road on the sidewalk yes I think he would go crazy I would f I were him.  Plus that is dangerous place to put him.

I appreciate your concern.  I am such  a worry wart myself.
