Ok My rabbit had her spay on tuesday and seemed to be recovering well, but this morning i looked in her cage and found this thick yellow liquid. I changed the newspaper but it keep appearing. I have no idea what this is, some people have suggested its an UTI and others have suggested its a disoraeah, im going to be calling the vets first thing tommorow. Also shes been drinking alot more then normal but eating fine. And seems pretty happy. Also the incision wound from the spay looks rather bloody now.

Is it actually thick, or is it just cloudy pee?
However, if the insision is bloody, you do need to go to the vet as she either has been chewing it or it is infected.

Kind of looks like urine to me, it can be different colors (even orange and red) and can be thick as well.

Is he eating and drinking well? Have you looked at the incision?

It looks like pee to me too… When you say thick do you mean chalky ?

I vote its pee also. Looks like some of the liquid has been absorbed by the paper and the thicker pee with sediment is left.

Has she been licking the incision?

That does look oddly “thick”… IDK.

I know with urine, it can be different colors based on how much water they’re drinking and what veggies they’re eating. I wonder if this might be bc of the spay meds/anesthesia continuing to get worked out of system.

Keep us posted on how she does please. What did the vet say about her incision, does he think it looks okay?

The vet said her incission looked fine, it only looked red cos you could see some sort of tissue.

Shes doing better now, not drinking as much and no more thick pee. she finnishes the anti biotics saturday

I have noticed this sort of thing with both my male and female buns post surgery. I think it is caused by a bit of dehydration… Once they all started to drink it became normal again.
