        Hello,

Are plantain chips all right for rabbits as a very special occasion treat? (ie, Christmas, birthdays..) I haven’t given them any yet, and I’m not sure if they are OK. Can rabbits eat plantains? Thanks!

Yes, I think so. I did a bit of research and everything says plantain is safe.

They are safe, but they are also much higher in carbs than bananas so, limited quantities as treats only. Too many carbs are not good for rabbits. Also be sure they are dried, not fried plantain chips and, that they are not salted.

Yuck, I hate plantains. Seems they haunted me at every turn when I was in Costa Rica. Well anyway, I believe they are safe for bunnies to eat. Like BlueMoods said, make sure they aren’t fried or salted. Just plain dehydrated chips.
