        HI

I have a mini rex rabbit. I cannot let her out everysingle day due to me being ill here lately i’m on new medications. I usually let her out every single day but some days I can’t . I was wondering if she’ll be okay. I do still tend to her fresh water food and hay, but sometimes I am unable to let her out everysingle day for play time. It doesnt happen often and if I cannot let her out the night that i’m ill I always let her out the next day and give her extra play time. Am I doing the right thing? Her cage is not very small she has lots of room for her size so shes not crammed she has plenty of food water and hay and I spoil her with lots of toys she loves and stays occupied with. I do always clean her cage on time and groom her/ trim her nails. But my main concern is if I cannot let her out for a day will she be fine? Like I said its not often but for some odd reason guilt comes over me like as if I cant let her out it always feels like i’m doing something wrong. Please dont be rude. I was thinking of getting one of those play extentions for her cage maybe so that if I cant let her out and run around the whole room where I can watch her I can just set up the extended play area and she can run around there freely. I love my rabbit so much.

She will be fine, don’t worry about it. Sometimes you have to do what our have to do, and having to stay in her
(Large) cage won’t hurt her. If you can, get the extension, but don’t feel guilty.

The extended play area you were thinking about might help work off some of that energy that is keeping you up at night. Good for her, and good for you. Sounds like sleep would be especially important for you now.

An xpen attached to the cage for extra exercise space is a great idea.

Exercise is cumulative, so if you can’t let her out some days, on the days she is out, try to let her play a little longer than usual.

She’s obviously cared for very well, so just do your best!

She’ll be fine! As others mentioned, you can try extending her play area so she’s still contained, but has more room to run around when you can’t let her out.

Thanks guys. sorry to get back to you so late
Hope is doing fine she we have tried taking her outside to a bunny area I fixed up but she was extremly scared so should I just keep her in an inside area? I only done this because I was told bunnies like to sunbathe and graze on clover which we have alot of. with my bunny she just sat there in alert mode breathing fast.

Most buns used to the inside would not be used to, or even like, the sounds of outside. Just keeping her inside is fine Maybe bring some clover to her?

                        Hello Flabebe!
I have figured that out the hard way. I just thought since she loves exploring maybe outside would be a good place for her while I look after her . I do bring her clover however its limited its small where I live and soon will not be growing because of climate changes. I have just started her on Kale and Dandelion leafs. She loves them and I got them for only $.60 I plan to expand her diet variety but not too much different because I believe my old rabbit died from GI gestation cause is un known. Also feed her a bananna every once and a while. I dont want her getting too much sugar. It seems when she does she literally will not sleep at night she is so wound up. Even at this moment she is so wound up and all I gave her today was her normal food ,hay , and kale/dandelion. But then again she is not spay yet either lol.

The spay, as well as age usually calm them down. But I do notice that if my kitten has eaten before bed he wont settle down, and the sugar for your bun probably doesnt help with being hyper Little amounts of sugar is okay, but I always worry about my bun getting fat xD Call it an irrational fear! Lots of veggies and such are great so long as they are introduced slowly! Who knows, she may end up liking a veggie from every season!
