        Hi Everyone,

Our Flemish Chloe LOVES chewing her wood baskets and sticks. We got her the willow sticks, basket and hide out and she goes to town! I’m worried about her ingesting all this wood! I know its good for their teeth, but is it too much. It keeps her very busy and she’s been trying to chew the carpet so I got her more sticks. I got her one of those hamster willow hideouts and she ate the thing in 2 days! Our other bun Moxie was not a toy chewer so this is new. Any thoughts?

        Thanks

        Zolie

If she eats a willow, it’s fine as it contains a lot of fiber which is good for her. Just make sure she is eating her hay too.

The big thing like LongEaredLions said is making sure that it doesn’t affect her hay and veggie consumption. You might try removing the willow from her sometimes during the day for a little while…

I’d give her one willow thing at a time, and do be sure is eating her food properly too. If she isn’t , take the willow away for part of the time so she eats her food too.

Also she is a Flemish giant so, can eat more than smaller rabbits, allow for that with her wood chewing and, if she is leaving shreds of it around and not actually eating the willow. Some of mine shred wood things to bits but eat only a little of it, she may be doing that just because she likes shredding wood.
