        About me:

        1. Are you new to rabbits or have you been a bunny slave for a long while now?  – New in a way. Had them as a child/ teenager. We also successfully raised a litter of 4 cottontails who were orphaned in a storm.
        2. What made you choose to have a rabbit companion in your life?  – They chose us basically. Licorice was a stray, and Chipper was at the SPCA and did NOT want my son to put him down.
        3. Anything else that you’d like to share – hobbies, interests, talents.  My husband and I are avid outdoors folks. He does some wildlife rehab in addition to his “real” work in research and development.

IS THAT A JERSEY WOOLY???? Love that Chipper!!!!!! Well, the other one is beautiful too, but I have a VERY big soft spot for Jersey Woolies. Those look like a couple of very lucky bunnies. Enjoy and welcome. You do sound like a fun couple!!

Licorice is indeed a Jersey Wooly! Vet says he appears to be a pet quality pure bred, and he was not all the surprised someone let him go. Apparently they are very high energy and do not like to be cage. (um – yes and yes in Lick’s case! He spends 80% of the time free-range.)

Also both boys are VERY fuzzy. Poor Licorice – we are still trying to work on a few felted mats around his hindquarters. He is very tolerant of brushing thankfully. He will basically do anything for a few treats. =)

Aw nice! I had a stray picked out at the shelter but he died under anesthesia for neutering b4 taking him home. I got a fuzzy lop though and she’s great

I am so sorry to hear that! I would have been devastated. His hairy little self seriously stole my heart. When I took him to the vet – he was already neutered. I was shocked. I thought it was a juvenile, but apparently he’s just a fully grown dwarf. Vet said probably 1-2 years or so. He said it’s hard to tell with rabbits.
