My rabbit currently lives in a play pen, which I’ve configured into a 6×2 rectangular shape to fit into my bedroom. However, he loves to push the pen around and lift it up and down with his teeth. Also, the play pen is an eye sore and I want something that looks nice, since it has to stay in my bedroom. So I’ve decided to purchase a hutch for my rabbit, which I’ll be using indoors. It was really difficult for me to find the right size, since so many of them are either way too small or way too big. The one I’m currently considering purchasing is the Precision Pet Products Cape Cod Chicken Coop / Rabbit Hutch. I just wanted to get a second opinion, since I’ve never purchased a hutch before. Also, I would really appreciate if you guys had any recommendations that are less than $300 and around the same size as this hutch. Any tips on which brands are good or bad, what type of wood is good or bad, etc. would also be awesome!

        Thank you

(btw I accidentally uploaded this question in the Diet and Care forum but don’t know how to get it down so advice on that would be appreciated as well)

Is it possible for you to build your own, or have a friend/family member? Rabbit hutches are terribly over priced – the largest one you can find that’s $500 would cost ~$100 to build. It’s crazy

            Hmmmmmmm

An NIC cage would be cheaper and probably provide more space… And in my opinion a pen is perfect for bunnies because it provides lots of space and is easy to clean..
Although I suppose if the issue is attractiveness, you don’t think an ex pen is attractive then you won’t think an NIC cage is either. :/

I’m not sure what to suggest really.
Like CBL said, could you make one? Hutches are very overpriced!

If you’re set on having a hutch, then I might suggest you pick one that’s a bit easier to access, the one you mentioned has quite a few different door-bits, I could just picture it being difficult to clean and to get to your bunny (if that makes sense?)

Sarita moved the other thread to this section, I locked it since it’s a duplicate of this one. In the future, if you post something in the wrong section, don’t worry about starting another thread in the right section. We’re generally pretty good with getting posts moved where they need to go. If you want to let us know right away, you can also click the alert button on your post and send a message that it needs to be moved.

There are a couple replies in the other thread, so go read that, but continue the conversation here. 🙂
