  My rabbit currently lives in a play pen, which I’ve configured into a 6×2 rectangular shape to fit into my bedroom. However, he loves to push the pen around and lift it up and down with his teeth. Also, the play pen is an eye sore and I want something that looks nice, since it has to stay in my bedroom. So I’ve decided to purchase a hutch for my rabbit, which I’ll be using indoors. It was really difficult for me to find the right size, since so many of them are either way too small or way too big. The one I’m currently considering purchasing is the Precision Pet Products Cape Cod Chicken Coop / Rabbit Hutch. I just wanted to get a second opinion, since I’ve never purchased a hutch before. Also, I would really appreciate if you guys had any recommendations that are less than $300 and around the same size as this hutch. Any tips on which brands are good or bad, what type of wood is good or bad, etc. would also be awesome!

  Have you considered an NIC condo? They can be made to look quite attractive and are WAY cheaper than a hutch. It will also offer your bunny more space than a hutch. Check out the habitat section here on BB in Bunny Info.

  Is the pen really that much of an eye sore in your bedroom? You’re probably the only person who’s in there most of the time…
  
  $300 is a lot of money to spend on housing when you already have something that is a suitable size and easier to clean than an enclosed hutch. I’d personally put the money away in an emergency bunny fund for unexpected vet care.
